The invincible cheat code GTA 5 players search for is one of the easiest ways to survive dangerous situations in Story Mode. Whether you want to test explosions, escape a huge firefight, or simply explore Los Santos without worrying about taking damage, the cheat can make free roaming much more relaxed. The key thing to remember is that GTA 5's standard invincibility cheat is a Story Mode feature and is not available in GTA Online.
The PC command for invincibility is PAINKILLER. If you would rather use a phone, enter 1-999-724-654-5537 on the in-game keypad. Console players can also enter a specific controller sequence. These different input methods allow players on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox to access essentially the same temporary invincibility effect.
Using the cheat on PC is simple. First, enter GTA 5 Story Mode and load into normal gameplay. Press the key used to open the cheat console, type PAINKILLER, and confirm the command. The game should display a notification when the cheat activates.
If you prefer using the character's phone, open it during gameplay and access the dial pad. Enter 1-999-724-654-5537 and place the call. This method can be more convenient if you frequently switch between different cheats because the phone interface lets you enter the corresponding numbers directly.
On PS4 and PS5, the invincibility button combination is:
Right, X, Right, Left, Right, R1, Right, Left, X, Triangle
Xbox players can enter:
Right, A, Right, Left, Right, RB, Right, Left, A, Y
The phone number provides another option across supported platforms, so players who do not want to memorize these sequences can simply dial the number.
The effect is temporary, with current GTA 5 references describing invincibility as lasting approximately five minutes. Once it wears off, you can enter the code again if you are still in a suitable Story Mode situation.
Invincibility is especially useful when experimenting with GTA 5's sandbox mechanics. You can run through heavily guarded areas, survive vehicle crashes, test explosive weapons, or simply create unusual situations without immediately losing health.
It can also be combined with other cheats. For example, TOOLUP provides weapons and ammunition, while HIGHEX gives explosive bullets. CATCHME increases running speed, and GOTGILLS improves swimming speed. These combinations can turn ordinary free roam into a completely different gameplay experience.
However, invincibility does not mean that every aspect of the game becomes permanently easier. Cheats are temporary effects rather than permanent character upgrades. They also do not carry over as lasting advantages after restarting or reloading the game.
The biggest limitation is that standard GTA 5 cheats do not work in GTA Online. If you are playing multiplayer, entering the Story Mode invincibility code will not provide the same effect. These cheats are designed for the single-player experience.
Players should also be aware that activating cheats can disable achievements or trophies for the current session. If you are trying to complete achievement requirements, it is better to keep your normal progress separate from your cheat experimentation.

U4GM also provides GTA 5 account-related services for players looking for alternative ways to access different account setups. Its marketplace is designed around gaming products and services, giving GTA fans another option when they want something beyond standard Story Mode experimentation.
For quick Story Mode chaos, remember PAINKILLER and the phone number 1-999-724-654-5537. Use the code when you want temporary protection, experiment with other cheats when appropriate, and keep a clean save for achievement-focused sessions.
